The construction is the Three Triangle form that I have developed.
The design is called "Creative Spirit" because the first pattern
I chose was Barbara Abbey's "Point d'esprit". I put that
in the first triangle to represent ideas, which blossom with
an original adaptation of a Barbara Walker stitch. Finally the
classic pattern in the bottom triangle shows the fruit which, in
turn, creates more ideas, represented by an original edging that
picks up the elements of the first pattern. |

Although I sell different yarns at different times, the Wool
- Silk Zephyr is something I always carry. It is 50% fine grade Merino
Wool and 50% Chinese Tussah Silk. This unique combination of natural
fibers provides yarn that is lightweight and lustrous. It is 2/18 with
5040 yards per pound. I sell it by the ounce at $6.00 per ounce. Or $40
for ½ lb and $70 for 1 lb. The Zephyr is currently offered in almost 60
colors! New and improved color card - now you can read the names! A first and second choice is
recommended when ordering. |

Creativity
I am very excited about this yarn which is exclusive to Moonrise. It is made
by Jaggerspun for their commercial sock customers. I call it "Creativity"
because just touching it creates all kinds of ideas for me. Creativity is a
2/26, 35% silk and 65% wool, 7000 yards to the lb, and undyed (but beautiful
in its very light natural state). I cannot tell you how wonderful this is to
work with! The fabric is soft with just a hint of sheen and drapes
perfectly. I used a O and a OO with it and found both to work very well. I
tried a little juice drink powder-the brand that is so cool-to dye it and it
took the color very well. 4 ounce ball or skein SORRY BUT CREATIVITY IS

Silky Cashmere Fingering - New Yarn!
I have found a luxury yarn that is a little thicker than I usually work
with. It is directly from China. 55% silk and 45% Mongolian Cashmere. I
have three colors-a deep plum, a dark blue and a very deep purple. A skein
of 2 ounces has 400 yards. I have tried a size 2 and a size 3 needle with
it-both work very well. The swatch pictured used a size 2 needle and a
variety of lace stitches. It is $22 a skein. I call that affordable luxury! |

Touch
Once you feel this splendid Cashmere 5%, Merino 95% yarn you will know how
it got its name. It has 800 yards in a 62 ½ gram skein. That is 358 yards an
ounce-- a little thinner than the wool/zephyr at 312 yards an ounce.
Available in: Old rose, Ocean blue, Red, Seashell pink, Sharks blue. Only
$15 a skein. For a shawl I recommend you get 2 skeins, 3 for a large shawl. |

Cashmere
I am making one of the Niebling patterns
with MoonNight. I can't stay away from this project-forget the housework. I
am using a size 1 needle and getting a gauge of 7 sts and 7 rounds per inch
over lace. So far I have used 100g and my to-be shawl is 30" in diameter. I
figure I will probably use another 100g. as I will be adding to the pattern
to make a fairly large shawl.
In addition to the white, (in 50g balls or
100g balls), I now have it in burgundy, dark blue, and bright green, all in
50g balls. This yarn never splits or tangles from the ball. It is soft, but
has good stitch definition.
